Good times, great music at The Goodland
Every Thursday night at 7:00 pm, the Good Bar patio transforms into one of Santa Barbara's best outdoor live music venues. With The Goodland Presents we've created an intimate and personal music series that introduces you to some of our favorite musicians and provides the soundtrack to an unforgettable evening. Join us—with a drink in hand if you like—to take in performances from up-and-coming bands and artists, while a warm California evening acts as the perfect backdrop.
January 9: Brian Faith Band
Also known as Ernie and the Emperors, Brian Faith Band is well accustomed to rocking the stage. They were raised to be Santa Barbara musicians. Their tutelage led them across the country as openers for acts such as The Isley Brothers. They take inspiration from the sheer opportunity to play music for a living, as well as from the friends and collaborators they have met on their journey. They draw on their own experiences to curate personal lyrics backed by rollicking, classic rock infused instrumentation.
January 16: Conner Cherland
With a blend of styles from Americana, Indie/Folk, and Soul music, Conner Cherland’s voice compares with present day singers Hozier, Ed Sheeran, and Shakey Graves. Conner doesn’t feel he was groomed for music, but rather became slowly and deeply enamored with it over time. He fashioned himself into a prolific songwriter by writing 125 songs in 6 months in 2014, and hasn’t looked back. As he continues to progress through the music game, he has come to learn the best tools are the friends - not the music - you make along the way.
January 23: The Olés
Born between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez foothills on the south-facing shores of Santa Barbara, The Olés have been making "the kind of music you put on while cruising to the beach at sunset" for the past 6 years. A love for the community bleeds through in their ever evolving sound, rooted in reggae, hip hop, and soul. Cutting their teeth at Isla Vista house parties, The Olés have played across the Western U.S. - from Colorado to Washington and back down to SoCal - sharing stages with the likes of Rebelution, Don Carlos, Passafire, Hirie, and The Mad Caddies.
January 30: Teresa Russell
If you took Stevie Ray Vaughn, added a good measure of Bonnie Raitt, then stirred it with a Jeff Beck swizzle stick, you’d get close to the incredible music of Teresa Russell. Russell represents a unique talent, combining song-writing, strong vocal expression and guitar virtuosity in a single package. She is the only female to ever win the west regional Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s lead guitar competition. She has shared the stage with rockers such as Johnny Winter, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Eddie Money, Walter Trout, John Anderson, Carl Palmer and Shiela E, to name a few. Playing everything from rock and blues to jazz, Teresa is a Ventura County favorite and you can catch her performing regularly throughout the area.
